Lived here for most part of 2017-2018 I lived in one of the quad rooms. Bedrooms were a good size with a double bed, a large desk, a closet,a small tv , and a dresser. The bed was slightly hard, however I sleep well on harder beds so it wasn't much of an issue for me. Kitchen was small so counterspace and storage was definitely a commodity between 4 roomates, and the cabinets had a strange odour which i can only describe a curdled milk. There was a deepfreeze and two fridges which was a bonus however. The bathrooms were fairly small and the floors got dirty very quickly. In terms of wifi, to be frank the wifi was very fast ~30mb/s, but had attrocious connectivity, if you don't have a modem or router you will need one because the wifi disconnects constantly. thankfully one of my roomates had a modem which fixed the issue. The staff at the front desk were generally helpful but don't expect to see a staff member at the desk in the early morning even though it was advertised there would be one at all times. The kitchens and general lounges were nice but dirty much of the time as many residents don't clean up after themselves which led to them being closed and locked( yes really) most of the time I lived here. On a more positive note the building boasts some very great facilites, there is a cardio gym, paid laundry, dance studio, games room with xbox and ps4, pool table and several lounges. These were definitely a high light in my time here. Another note is while i was here ,there was construction happening almost the entire time i was living there, which meant sleeping past 8 am was impossible due to the excessively loud drilling at all hours of the day. While it wasn't the worst place in the world to live i wouldn't reccomend more than one year living here as the price is only worth the distance to TRU.

This place is a bad joke. If it would be possible to give no stars - I would do it. Living there for 3 months was the worst! The staff has no clue about everything, the rooms are old and battered. You can't even open a window. Additionally, the promised cleaning is just a 5 minute act every two weeks. And thats for over 4000 dollar. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Overall great value. Perched on a hill, the rooms I have stayed in (4 times now) have all enjoyed great views. Rooms have always been clean. Decor is simple and sterile as may be expected of a university residence. Workout room while not comprehensive is useful. The campus is enjoyable to walk around.

Great cost effective hotel/dorm rooms. Separate mini bedrooms, kitchen and shower style bathroom. Everything is in great shape and there is free coffee at reception. You are about 8 minutes (by car) from downtown Kamloops. We paid $72 a night for 2 people so an amazing deal. Rooms might be harder to book when the university is not in summer mode. The Den Bar (the student bar) is closed during the summer months. Check out Fox and Hound Pub (2 minutes by car) for grate food and lots of beer choices.

Good basic clean accommodations for families with 4 bedroom 2 bath rooms with tv's in each bedroom and free wifi. Big fridge/freezer and microwave. Beds super hard, no couches, and no decor as it's a dormitory. Suggest bringing mattress foamies and plastic cutlery/plates/cups if you stay here and want to eat breakfast in your room. Great views, BBQ, cooking stoves, and workout room also available. Staff was very helpful. Free coffee in am was much appreciated!

Kinda like prison but nicer looking. If you disrespect a RA in any way then you get kicked out. No loud music/movies, No glass anything, random people entering your room when your not home to do searches. And when you do want peace and quiet someone is being LAF. And when something doesn't work it takes a month for them to fix it. If they fix it that is. (had no heating in winter)

The room is nice, however the kitchen is really small and does not have much room to store food. It would be nice to have a larger kitchen because there is no meal plan at the college and cooking in the kitchen is pretty hard.

Rundown residence for students during the school year with hotel style rooms for the public in the summer. The room has two separate rooms inside with a bed in each sub-room, walk in area has one bathroom, sink, and a fridge. Complimentary break fast is usually stocked well; fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast, bagels, and coffee.

The building was very hard to find, situated on the college campus, way in the back parking lot. The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful with directions to local restaurants and such. It was reasonably clean, although there was a funky odor, likely from the old stained carpeting. There was inadequate lighting. The mattress, on a spring frame without box spring, provided a very uncomfortable night of sleep. The TV remote did not work. The breakfast was very limited. The price was reasonable. Would not plan on staying more than one night.

Clean, simple, TV, microwave, several laundry rooms, several lounges with kitchens no pots or pans though, breakfast until ten serving nothing but cereal, bagels and toast with butter and Philadelphia, clean fridge and freezer, elevator, vending machines in the reception, food court across the car park in the main college building, clean shower cubicle, no bath. It's great and I would most definitely come here again if I was in the area and they had space.

The residence itself is actually not too bad. The people who run it, on the other hand... I arranged a contract with the Residence back in February of 2016 to block off 10 rooms for my wedding. Mike Parente sent me the contract, I signed and returned it, and the agreement was made and solidified through e-mail. I was promised that these 10 rooms would not be sold off to anyone else (both in the e-mails and in the contract), until after the cut-off date, which was set for June 23rd, 2016. On May 26th, a guest contacted me to tell me that there were no more rooms available under my block. I contacted Mike Parente to find out who had booked all the rooms, and to my dismay, was advised that they had gone ahead and booked my rooms to random people! When I pointed out that he had breached our contract, and asked him for an explanation, this is the exact e-mail he replied with: "Unfortunately it’s not about the contract being honoured, we simply sold out the entire building with confirmed reservations. As we explained the building sells our quite fast and we simply cannot guarantee to hold blocks as long as we do. Like I mentioned, I can look at overbooking a few more rooms – if you can send me a list of individuals, I can squeeze them in and try my best. " He couldn't guarantee to hold the block that we had a contract for...?? Then what's the point of having the contract to begin with!? That's the point of blocking off rooms!! When I quoted the parts of the contract that stated 1. my blocked rooms were in fact guaranteed, and 2. he was required to give me at least 24 hours notice if anything in the contract were to be changed, he sent me this: "We are offering a 24 hour first right of refusal for your rooms, if you can secure payment for your total required rooms by tomorrow morning, we will be able to honour the bookings. I’ve attached a credit card authorization to ensure that payment can be made and guaranteed for the additional 3-5 suites." This e-mail, which was received at 10:36PM, states that I get 24 hours 'first right of refusal', but need to action it in about 12 hours. This is, mind you, for "3-5 suites", despite having blocked off 10 and only having 2 booked (therefore, I should have had 8 available to me). To top it off, I am expected to pay for them all, in full, without having any reasonable time to contact my guests to see if this is even a manageable request. Instead of paying for it myself (a giant risk), I urgently directed my guests to follow-up with Mike directly. Despite at least 2 people doing this, (both of them in my wedding party), trying to contact him via phone and e-mail, they were both unable to get rooms. Apparently he was ignoring their calls/e-mails. If I had the money, and a lawyer, I would take these people to court over this. It is beyond unacceptable to do this to someone, let alone a stressed out bride in the final months before her wedding. If you cannot honour a contract, then don't have them period. It's not ok to do this to people, and moreover, not offer ANY form of apology or compensation for it. Do yourself a favour and book with a hotel that has some integrity and is managed properly. Trust me, the stress and anxiety with their not-actually-a-contract contracts is not worth the little bit of money saved!

The residence is reasonably priced and rooms were clean. However, the beds in our room were quite firm and it states the rooms sleep 2-4 adults but not comfortably as the beds are only double beds. It's a good low priced option when just looking for a place to sleep but nothing fancy.

Very expensive for this place! Parking for 15 cars max, otherwise you can park you vehicle on a different parking, 10 minutes waking back. Rooms are wet, feels like you are in basement. Wet basement. Beds are wet, clothes became wet immediately. 8.00am drilling, construction, drywall... Managements don't f*cking care about guests. 1 star is too much for this place. "0" is the best rate.

The place was really clean and was great value. Having an electric stove or whatever it's called, would have been extremely helpful. But I don't think college kids are trusted that much. Nonetheless, it had good TV signal and channels, temperamental and slightly unreliable Wi-Fi, though there were Ethernet options, great head supporting pillows, hangers for clothes, plenty of towels, a super clean slower with great water pressure and temperature, though the tap in the kitchen didn't give out very hot water. It was at a point where you could set it to the hottest and put your hand under the water stream without feeling any pain. Either that, or I'm Wolverine. It had strong clean blinds in each room covering the entire window. I don't know about other people, but I rather enjoyed the view from the room furthest away from the bathroom. It was overlooking the campus, and had a good view of the carpark. Especially at night, when they turned the lights on. (They could have been automatic, but I dunno) The air-conditioning system was satisfactory and blew out cold air in every single room, including but limited to, the bathroom and the kitchen. The heat setting didn't work. When you get cold, get under the sheets because the heat setting should really say fan setting. It doesn't blow cold air but still, when set to heat, but it just gives out air the same temperature as the room. Almost as if it's simply redistributing the air already inside. It's very good that they included the huge fuzzy beige blanket. Okay I've been typing for too long. Oh. And they've got a Tim Hortons and an abundance of vending machines inside the main building. Just, try not to get lost looking for them...

For a non-expensive overnight stay, this place is great. Lot of space in the mini-suite, with 2 private bedrooms. Clean and modern. Was clean and inexpensive (half price of all other hotels around) but was of low quality. The sheets were rough, but the bed was comfortable. We were also missing some vent covers in Our room, so there were just big holes in the wall. Also found it a little strange that there were no lamps at all.

Clean, quiet, basic and only a 25 minute beautiful walk (10 minute bike ride) along the canal directly to downtown. Bus access on site. Perfect for the budget tourist. Be aware, the "kitchenette" provides only a sink, microwave and refrigerator with no oven/stove-top, small appliances (i.e.toaster) or pans, dishes, etc. so bring your own if you don't want to eat out daily.

Absolutely an awful experience. First, let me tell you that I am a quiet, older student who does not party too often and is extremely focused on academic and athletic success. First day I moved in, my mattress was infested with dead flies. My fridge didn't work, and the A/C malfunctioned and was extremely noisey. Submitting maintenance requests lead to long wait times for these situations to be resolved. Fortunately, all of these things were solved eventually. Key word: Eventually. One major issue is that the WiFi service is not powerful enough to accommodate everyone. Services such as Netflix heavily use bandwith, and this resulted in frequent down times and ALOT of annoyed residents. Conestoga College uses many online resources such as eConestoga (D2L) and consistent internet access is extremely important. Also, you are prohibited from bringing your own internet into the building. Another issue is the kitchen area. The entire building uses one kitchen, which results in awful smells, clogged sinks, food messes, and the list goes on and on. For students who wish to cook their own food and save money, be aware that this will be of great annoyance to you. The BIGGEST issue at this institution is the staff. I can't generalize, and say that all the staff members are unprofessional. That would be immature. There was a couple of polite, respectful staff members. However I found that these people are the upper management, so you are unable to locate them in the late evening sometimes. It is the some of student employees that are extremely unprofessional which caused me a variety of problems. This includes: Horrible timing, and lack of judgement. I have had Residence Advisors knock on my door at 3AM (waking me up, before early classes) during the school week to inspect, not repair a leak. This was absolutely ridiculous but fortunately I received an apology from their boss the next day. Using building entertainment for their personal enjoyment (ON THE JOB) meaning that students looking for a study break are unable to use such resources (Billiards, movie theatre, etc.) This is unfair considering that students are not employees and pay rent to use such features. After having negative occurrences with some male staff, they will attempt to eye me down and intimidate when crossing paths in the hallway. No student should have to deal with pointless, additional stress in their own "home". There is only one positive to living at residence, which is meeting some people. However, you also meet alot of really shitty people. You have to take the bad with the good. People will blast music late at night, and not care if their neighbors are trying to sleep. Drunk people will do what drunk people do, cause pointless mayhem. Drunk idiots will knock on your door late at night and run down the hallway like little girls. Essentially, If you are a serious student, do not live in this building. It was only helpful for me in the first few weeks because I was new to kitchener and needed somewhere close to live to the Conestoga Doon Campus. There is a residential area even closer to the campus, which I would recommend. I highly regret wasting my hard earned money at this building which treats all of their customers as children. I hope my review provides useful insight to any potential residents. Noel Halabi

I am currently a student at Conestoga College, I go to Doon Campus, which is just across the way. I don't even want to talk about how much it was to stay here for only 8 months, but I digress. When I arrived here, I was excited and thought it would be cool to live on my own. It was a few days of living here I realized I was in trouble.... The fridge is way out of whack! The normal fridge ends up freezing most of our drinks, yet you assume that the freezer works well, and that it does. The floor is extremely slippery, spilling even the smallest amount of liquid onto the surface, sent me flying halfway across the Kitchenette Floor, and almost hitting my head, which is a serious health hazard to me because I suffer from epilepsy. The shower in the bathroom is EXTREMELY small! Both in height and width, however, I am 6' 1", so perhaps it's normal for some, but for anyone 5' 11" and above, good luck showering! On the fourth day, I also noticed duct tape placed on the wall above the mirror, when I approached a staff member, they simply said (with a chuckle) "Oh yeah, we were removing a light that was there, and we had to rip it out real good!" ARE YOU SERIOUS?? I get the necessary removal, but for employees to act so immature and unprofessional, is really insulting. The AC/Heater has a range of degree's on it, basically saying, it has to be this high for the AC to activate, or this low for the heat to activate. As a young college guy, this stuff doesn't peeve me off too bad, but if anyone is looking to stay here as a hotel?! I suggest you stay far FAR away from this place.

You get what you pay for cheaper rates than a hotel because it isn't a hotel it's a residence it's a bed and shower, the renovated rooms are nice the older rooms are decent enough. Would give it zero stars if I could. Absolutely disgusting upon first moving in (fall/winter semester student), asked repeatedly to have mould cleaned from the ceiling and no one ever followed through. Freezer was a mess as well. "Quiet hours" were NEVER enforced and sleep was nearly impossible. Was supposed to receive $500 damage deposit back but they've deducted "cleaning fees" from it for the mould and the dirty freezer that I was NOT responsible for! Also, a maintenance person came into our room one day and damaged a mirror (personal belonging of mine) and I was told I would be reimbursed. This never happened. The people running this building do not know what they are doing whatsoever and I would NOT recommend this to anyone.

If you value your money and time Sheridan Residence is not the place for you. It seems to work just like any larger corporation where "policies" are things of most importance. You WILL get charged for pretty much anything - late payment, forgotten keycard you name it. "Our polices this, our policies that" is all you hear from the incompetent staff and it appears they only know how to charge your account for extra money. If you actually need to solve a problem always talk to the coordinator because he actually knows what to do. Anyways, unless you absolutely have no place to stay, avoid this place like fire. I forgot to mention it is also around 900$ a month and you can easilly find a place for half of that around Sheridan (and on much better terms)

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Their continental breakfast was a bagel, coffee, and choice of apple or orange. Dirty floors needing cleaning. Told us we were fine with our pet to which we were asked to put in a kennel in the morning. It was a tea cup pup the size of a hand. This is a dorm room building they rent out in the summer when the students leave. Awful awful awful. The supervisor yelled at her employee stay away!!!! Not one happy customer here.

I lived here during my first year of college, and i gotta say the rooms are very nice but everything else wasn't as great. The rooms themselves were very spacious and clean; you could sleep soundly on the bed, the kitchen functioned and had a microwave (yay!), the shower was that perfect warm temperature and the toilet worked well as you'd expect. Lots of space for stuff. TV went out a few times but i blame the weather. Both sleeping areas were separate and had doors (no locks on them though so i hope you trust your roommate) Even the A/C and heating worked fine. Wifi was slightly crap but you can always hard-wire an Ethernet cable to your laptop/gaming system so no big deal there. They are typical college dorms but then again Sheridan College is attached to the building so I'm not sure why people are complaining about that but that's beside the point. Overall this part was totally fine and very well maintained. Even my roommate was great and respectful. However a few other things turned me off wanting to stay here again and investing in a train ride to college everyday instead (which may I add is cheaper lol). Watch out for some sneaky charges: I was charged for winter rez despite letting the staff know i had to come back early for academic purposes so they can wave the fee (so im out $200 there). Whoever does the air duct inspections is very rude and actually charged me and my roommate $50 each because he couldn't fit in between the desks to look (which btw we moved back as far as we both could). And now im being charged almost $700 because i didn't cancel summer rez before April 1st (i didn't know i was accepted until April 15th nor was i aware there was a cancellation fee, in fact i hadn't even paid yet for it; and i cancelled for money reasons, its still cheaper for the train out to Oakville lol) They also nearly lost a $4,000 check we sent them which was lovely. In the end the only fee that was waved was that $50 one, but im still waiting on the cancellation thing. Overall its a very clean and cozy place to stay. If you're staying here for a few nights i say give it a go, its no bad for the price (i mean it comes with a fridge and a microwave you're all set). But if your a student, just be careful and mindful of extra costs, and make sure to read all the fine print and ask questions. I feel harsh giving it 2-stars so pretend its more like 2 1/2, but i personally might stick with taking the train to college.

This is one of the worst places you could possibly stay with regard to a student residence. I would avoid this at all possible cost's. It is worth your time, effort and energy to find someplace nearby to stay. Rooms are old and disgusting, as the mattress is beyond soft and filled with many unknown stains. The carpeting is also stained and should have been replaced years ago. The provided chairs are torn with the padding coming out, and there is an inadequate amount of room lighting. Furthermore, you cannot lock individual rooms and you are susceptible to your drunken roommates buddies walking in while you are trying to sleep. Furthermore, none of the staff have any comprehension of customer service. For instance, most of the front desk staff are rude and not happy when come to get your key card reactivated as it will stop working on a weekly basis. The residence staff also have no ability to communicate efficiently or effectively. As an example, they will prevent you from entering the residence without any reason. In one particular instance, they will stand at the doors and will aggressively prevent you from entering without any explanation or reason. I should not have to ask for information as to why! (This circumstance related to one of the many false fire alarms. These will often leave you sleepless on many nights) Also, I was never provided a working key for my mail box in which I could not pick up my mail until two months into my program. Additionally, when picking up larger parcels at the desk, a regular desk staff member would continually not look for the package and claimed that it had not arrived. It was not until I had to show my delivery notification she would actually look for the package and find it. Would it be too much to ask to have staff take a half day course on customer service!? With regard to communication the residence is also terrible. The move in was not organized especially, when enter from the wrong entrance. Not only do staff not show you the location of your room, nor do the go through your room with regard to the damage and condition documentation. Also, the number of room provided was not in location you would expect and you are left confused and wondering why you cannot find it. It is as though they messed up the sequential numbering of the rooms. Also, the documentation leaves only a few lines with regard to room condition. I could have exceeded this amount greatly had the space been available. Furthermore, you have no idea whether you have a room until about two weeks before the semester starts. Additionally, customer service is a real hit and miss in the convenience store. For instance, one individual refuses to make eye contact with customers and will ring your transaction through without any word of acknowledgement. Even thanking him for processing my transaction yields no response. Although, I do appreciate the fact prices for some merchandise is not significantly higher than what you would find located at the nearby no frills. Roommates also appear too be randomly selected with no consideration to the required roommate selection forum. A person would think, that you would be paired with someone who does not drink or smoke, especially, if you have selected these options. While, I cannot comment to much on the cafeteria food it is crazy expensive and has no taste. Considering, the cost of a meal I would expect to actually be eating with proper cutlery and real plates. If you choose not to endure the cafeteria food you are not left with many options to eat as you not allowed hotplates in your room. Basically, you are stuck heating all you food in the rusted out microwave provided. The only good thing about the residence is that it's close to campus and I have not had to deal with any pest issues. Overall, if the residence worked on it's customer service abilities and communication skills, it would not be a terrible place to stay. However, the fact they provide less than 24 hours after your last exam is inexcusable.

The cafeteria food is lack luster for the amount you pay for it, and the rooms equal out to be about $860 a month...aka $1720 a month for two people to live in one unit (all you get is two rooms and a tiny "kitchen"). If you don't get a newly renovated room, good luck, it's usually not cleaned before you move in. The supposed cleaning service they offer is kind of sad because they can't clean a simple spill on the floor, nor do they wipe your mirrors, etc. The residence will try and take your $500 deposit in any way they can. The lounges are rarely ever open and the laundry machines are pathetic and the dryers never dry your clothes. If you need to be close to the school, and can afford the crazy expenses (OSAP won't cover everything, even if you get the max amount of money from them) then I'd still go, but make your own food and try and get a renovated room.

This place is very similar to communist Russia. The Wifi is a joke, the rooms smell funny and today we have had 2 power outages. All that's missing is a few polar bears and Putin posters everywhere. Did i mention the clumps of hair on the floor? Also the cleaning lady came in twice. first time i said hi and she did a goob job. second time i didn't say hi and watched her out of my room. she thought no one was in and did a half assed of a mopping and left. the water smelled like weed

Great place to stay in the summer! Two separate bedrooms so my kids had their own room, and the kitchenette was helpful for saving money on meals! The staff were fantastic and friendly, and the entire place was very clean! We were close to everything we needed in the area. I would definitely stay again when I come back to Hamilton!

Lived here for 2 years. Staff and management are rude, living situations are less than habitable, and all concerns are falling on deaf ears. They don't care about their students. It is just a huge money grab. The whole place should be shut down or all staff should be fired and replaced with people that are actually competent.

Interesting place Not like a hotel not quite like a student dorm but clean and affordable This place is used as a student dorm. In the summer they rent out room. The rooms are private and have bathrrooms. The internet is one of the FASTEST available. They are clean and standard size. There is a television in the room not flat screen and you are provided with clean towls soap and shampoo. There is an inside swimming pool that is great and heated for some relaxing and swimming. The internet is via cable in the room and wi fi in the lobby. There is a large interior and sheltered area in the building with plenty of tables. You can use it during your stay. The wif fi works there quite well. The lobby is like an older Europen style hotel. I booked via web sight unseen for a total of 71.00 Canadian including tax. Very reasonable for the area. Includes a breakfast of bagels, coffee and orange juice if your lucky and apple. Safe environment with parking on the premises. I would recommend.

My daughter has lived in Rez for 4 years. She loves it. It is easy access to class and that matters when you are hauling a lot of awkward art stuff around. If she forgets something she can run back easily. I stayed one night there myself and I can tell you I have never seen such a quite dorm in my life. Having your own bedroom is key to maintaining some sanity in college and that is helpful. My advice for the kids is, remember your roommate should NOT be your best friend, but someone you can live with and often that is two different things. I would have liked to see a lock on the individual bedroom doors and the answer another parent was given about why that wasn't the case was rather lame. They have been quick to repair things but can really snag the students on deposits. Once they charged us $8 because the window sill was not dusted and I can tell you I cleaned that room spotless myself. My only criticism is that college students man the phones and most often they misinform. I have had to go to management to get the "real" answer 85% of the time, which is annoying. (This is why I am not giving it 4 stars.)

I am studying Tourism and Travel, this year in September I will take Tourism Management. I will not recommend this place. They do not offer healthy food during weekends, they all the time have internet problems inside de rooms. They ask students to pay for a deposit. If the student does not tell that for example it is a burn over the room's carpet, the student will loose his or her deposit. They let students take drugs inside their rooms. They have quit hours but they do not ask students to be quit, the students do not let sleep and during day they do not let study. The residence is expensive for students that live from a student loan.

Very big room with great night view of north shore. Parking is not convenience; The driving direction on the web site was wrong! you just need go north bound on the Hillside Drive to rich the traffic circle, don't go to the University Drive.

Although this was a residence for students, the dorm also acted like a hotel. I stayed in the summer and our room was freezing cold! We could not turn up the temperature at all. The blankets didn't look like they were recently cleaned. Tv was broken. The shower wasn't cleaned. There was a piece of hair on the shower floor when we first came in. The location is deep into Sheridan so it's quite a walk to get out of the place. The rate for the rooms isn't really worth it. I'd suggest trying a different hotel with the same rate.

College Dorm... If you appreciate lost cost over everything else then this might be the place for you. You get to independent rooms with a shared bath. It is basically a college dorm, somewhat run down, linens are awful and they normally forget to change them during your stay. No wifi (but wired internet is good), free breakfast is cereal, toast, coffee and juice.
